Spring PFPA Conference - York County

"After Preservation - Stewardship Options"

on May 22 and 23, 2018

Tuesday, May 22nd – PFPA Tour Day

We will meet at the Lakeview Farms (3440 Admire Road, Dover, PA 17408) parking lot at 12:45 so we can leave promptly at 1:00. Please watch for PFPA signs as to where to park. We will be carpooling to the farms so we can eliminate some vehicles. Please be prepared for any weather, and please wear ‘mud boots’ as they may have to be disinfected, etc.

The tour will first take us to the Leroy and Brenda Walker preserved dairy farm, a very progressive 200+-head dairy operation with an amazing manure storage/wash-out system that utilizes sand lagoons. We will then travel to the Hoffman Family Farm, also a preserved farm; a 400+-head beef operation with an updated feedlot and some interesting historical information about the conservation practices used on the farm.

Tuesday Evening, May 22nd – Informal dinner

Meet us at 6:00 pm at Brewvino at the Grandview Golf Course, 2779 Carlisle Rd, York, PA 17408 (www.brewvino.com). Grandview Golf Course is along Rt 74 – very easy access!  Join us there for an enjoyable/relaxing time of eating & catching up with each other. (Tab is ‘on-your-own’.)

 Wednesday, May 23rd - PFPA Conference Day (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)
